Quick release connections are used in other places on the Nostromo system.

For instance, at the end of the Nostromo arm is a quick release for adding and removing modules. All attachments here are reversible so they can either point above the arm.

The connection between the COG pan/tilt handles and the gimbal is also quick release, so changing back to the original handles for "run and gun" is easy.

Quick release

The quick release for docking the gimbal/camera is both safe and swift to use.

The dual action locking mechanism will hold the weight of the camera/gimbal, even if the locking lever is accidentally released.  A second action has to be completed, that is the lever shaft also has to be pushed in to separate the quick release.

Having just one lever to engage, speeds up the docking and undocking process. Simply click the female into the male receptor, close the lever, and you're away.
